Congratulations on the use of your photos, but no wonder -- they are remarkably clean and well staged. The volume itself looks to be a great introduction to HPL, with most of his classic stories, with one jarring exception: "The Quest of Iranon"? There's no accounting for taste, but still, this is a particularly whiny piece. I would have chosen "The Other Gods" or even "The Doom That Came to Sarnath" as a more representative piece of Dunsanian fiction, or even "The White Ship", if the idea of outgrowing the sense of wonder was the theme desired.

Just did a YouTube video shewing my copy of the current FM. It's cool to have my photo in there, first time in almost 40 years, and to have my photo next to Ramsey's. The last time I had my photo in an issue of FM was issue #104, 1973, I think. I had just been transferred from Ireland to Las Vegas as an LDS missionary and I was beginning my real discovery of H. P. Lovecraft (it was in a Vegas bookshop that I found a pb volume of TALES OF THE CTHULHU MYTHOS). It's cool to think of my journey since then, from just becoming an obsess'd fan to this month, in which Ihave two new Lovecraftian collections publish'd. It's been an amazing journey.

William, how did I not think that you would have a Lovecraftian blog? I'll dig into it more when I some free time, which is unfortunately not in great abundance right now. My mom died a few months ago, so my time outside the day job is pretty well consumed with estate matters. Since I've been wading through various artifacts of the old days, when the bookstore was still open, I decided to search for any reference to Hourglass Productions on the web. And out popped your blog! Hope you and Jean are doing well.

Dear Kris,

   You are very welcome!

I didn't want to frighten you in the parking lot, in my grubby, driving-my-wife-to-Wal-Mart clothes; but I try to never pass up a chance to share Lovecraftian interests.

So I'm very glad you took the time to write, and to share the info with your friends too!

As you look at, read, and listen to the images, documents, and audio from my CthulhuWho1 sites, please keep in mind that "What's Mine, Is Yours!"

Help yourself to all I offer; and feel free to share any of it you like. That's why I've uploaded everything.

And if you every find time to listen to any of my readings (like my latest, H. P. Lovecraft's, "The Case of Charles Dexter Ward"), please let me know if they work for you too.

                    Crazy in Fullerton,

                               Will

ps
I'm posting this on CthulhuWho1.com and by Email too.
Plus, I'm adding your email address to my email list,
so you'll hear from me when I add something major to my sites.

Pat, Thank You for calling my effort a "Great Job!" And I also Thank You for getting back to me after you finished listening; and for helping to spread the word over on Reddit!

I wonder if you noticed, the one single, rather humorous line that caused me to make Dr. Willet a Southern Doctor, and one who might have a need for a bit of a restorative drink or two?

In Dr. Willet's 12-April-1928 letter to Theodore (Charles Ward's father), he states, "I am going South for a while to calm down and brace up."

I loved the "going South" reference, indicating to me that he was from there and heading back home for a bit; and I chuckled at the down-up reference, while believing that the "calm down and brace up" could mean that he was going to do some serious drinking!

Perhaps this isn't what Lovecraft (the non-drinker) had in mind, but it's the way my mind read it.

I just finished listening to it. Great job. I liked your portrayal of Willett - he's tougher with the right accent than he comes across in text.

I really like the pacing of CDW - the early climax of the assault on Curwen's tower sets the stage for Willett's ultimate confrontation with Curwen well and gives the intervening story a lot more import. AtMoM is more one big slow build, but CDW plays differently with the two notable peaks of tension. I actually think CDW would make a good movie.
